Squid Game Coloring Pages

These Squid Game coloring pages draw the games and the places, and stop there. The show they come from is made for adults, and none of that is on these sheets: no weapons, no blood, nobody hurt, nobody frightened, and no character from the series.

What is here is the part everyone pictures first. The shapes: the circle, the triangle and the square, set inside frames in thick outlines. The honeycomb biscuit, with an umbrella scored into it, a needle resting alongside, a tray of four biscuits each scored differently, and one split cleanly along its star. The paper tiles, one turning in the air above a pavement, another lying flat in a chalk square, two neat stacks beside it. The games on the grass: a line of children at a chalk start line, a tall doll in a pinafore under a bare tree while the children behind her stand still, two teams pulling a rope across a chalk line, a row of trainers laid out along a rope. Marbles, tipped from a pouch onto paving stones and counted between two crouching children. The building: a spiral staircase past arched openings, flights of stairs crossing on several levels, a corridor of plain doors, a dormitory of stacked bunks, a piggy bank hanging above them. And the guards, in hooded coveralls with a plain shape on the mask, one at a doorway, one kneeling to tie a shoelace, one carrying a stack of wrapped boxes downstairs.

What a parent should know before printing

Worth saying plainly, because the search term brings people here who have not seen the show and people who have. The series is rated for adults. These drawings are not the series. They take the games, the shapes and the corridors, and leave everything else out. The guards stand, walk and carry boxes; they are never armed and never threatening anyone. The doll under the tree is a doll under a tree. No sheet shows a weapon, an injury or a person in danger.

That makes them usable at a mixed table, which is the point. A child who has only heard the games named at school gets the biscuit and the marbles. An older sibling who has watched it gets the stairs and the dormitory. Nobody has to explain anything they would rather not.

The shapes, and where they come from

The circle, triangle and square sheet is the one people recognize from across a room, and it is also the easiest thing on the site to color well: three flat fields, thick borders, no small parts. It rewards bold flat color rather than shading, so it suits markers.

The honeycomb biscuit is a real Korean sweet, dalgona, poured hot and pressed flat with a shape stamped into the surface. It is caramel colored, somewhere between toffee and pale amber, and the stamped line sits slightly darker than the rest. Color the biscuit in one warm tone and go over the scored line once more with the same pencil: that single darker groove is what makes it read as pressed rather than drawn on.

The paper tiles are ddakji, folded from two squares of paper. Real ones are folded from two different colors, so the tile shows one color on top and a second along the folded edges. Give the flipping tile and the tile on the ground the same pair of colors and the page suddenly looks like one game rather than two objects.

Which sheets suit a younger child

Nearly half of these sit in the quick band. The shapes, the biscuits and the tiles are large simple objects with wide fields and very little behind them, and a six or seven year old can finish one in a sitting. Press Quick to color above the grid to keep them. The list starts with these:

The busiest sheets

The architecture is where the line work gets dense. The crossing staircases, the dormitory of bunks and the guard carrying boxes down a curving stair all have long runs of repeated edges, which is slow, absorbing work for a teenager or an adult. Lots of detail gathers them:

• Staircases crossing between arches
• A dormitory of stacked bunks

Colors for the tracksuit and the coveralls

Two palettes carry the whole collection, and both are worth getting right because they are what makes the sheet recognizable once it is colored.

• The tracksuit is green, a soft teal green rather than a grass green, with a white collar and white side stripes. It appears on the hanger in the locker room and on the children on the grass.
• The chest patch is blank on these sheets. That is deliberate, and it is an invitation: a child can write their own number there, or leave it white.
• The guards wear pink, a strong fuchsia coverall, with a black mask and black boots and gloves. The shape on the mask stays black.
• The piggy bank is usually left pale, close to white, so the coins beneath it can take a warm yellow and still stand out.
• The stairs and the arches look best in two or three flat pastel tones repeated in rotation across the flights, rather than a different color for every step.
