Minecraft Coloring Pages

Torches on a mine wall, a creeper in the doorway, a ghast drifting over a Nether fortress. The free Minecraft coloring pages here are scenes from the game world rather than mobs alone on white paper, and because everything is built from cubes, most of the work on each printable PDF is filling squares, which suits a child who likes order as much as color.

Across the blocky world:

• Steve and other players in caves, mines, a stone room with chests and on the deck of a wooden ship.
• Creepers in tall grass, on a grass path, in a mine doorway and beside a stack of TNT.
• Hostile mobs: ghasts, skeletons, a spider, endermen, spiky guardians and the Ender Dragon.
• Villagers in their village square, beside a wooden house and walking next to an iron golem.

Minecraft, from Notch's 2009 test build to the 2025 movie

Minecraft is a building and survival game made by the Swedish studio Mojang. Markus Persson, known as Notch, released the first version in 2009, and the full game came out in November 2011. Microsoft bought Mojang in 2014.

Players explore a world made of blocks, dig for ore, craft tools and build anything they can imagine. At night, monsters come out, so a player with a sword facing a mob in a dark cave is a scene every fan knows. Builds have their own pages too: a wooden house wrapped around the trunk of a tall tree, with rope bridges running out from it, and a whole blocky city seen from above. A Minecraft Movie reached theaters in April 2025, with Jack Black as Steve and Jason Momoa as Garrett, and brought a wave of younger fans to the game.

Minecraft Steve coloring pages

Steve, the default player character, goes everywhere in these sheets:

• Walking along minecart rails in a cave, sword in hand, with ore blocks and a lit torch on the walls.
• Facing a skeleton in a cave with a shield and a pickaxe, a spider crouched on the floor between them.
• Standing in a stone room with two chests, a crafting table and three tools framed on the wall.
• At home in a wooden room with a kennel, a fishbowl and a potted plant, a wolf and a cat at his feet.
• Raising a pickaxe on the deck of a wooden ship under a bare mast.

Other players turn up too. One draws a bow at a zombie walking toward them, one walks through the grass with a wolf and a sword, and two grinning players stroll side by side, one with a pickaxe and one with a sword.

Steve's colors

Steve wears a turquoise shirt, blue-violet pants and gray shoes, with short brown hair and light tan skin.

Coloring swords and tools by material

In the game, a tool's color tells you what it is made of, so asking a child which sword they crafted settles the color before they start:

• Wood: light brown.
• Stone: medium gray.
• Iron: pale silver gray.
• Gold: yellow with a touch of orange.
• Diamond: light turquoise.

The handle is always brown wood, whatever the blade.

Minecraft creeper and mob coloring pages

The creeper is the face of the game, and it started as a mistake. Notch was building a pig and swapped the height and length values in the model, which produced a tall, thin creature on four little legs. He found it creepy, kept it, and turned it into a mob that explodes.

On these sheets, a creeper waits in tall grass under two blocky trees, stands on a grass path with a tall long-legged mob behind it, watches from a dark mine doorway, and stands beside a stack of TNT. A blocky figure wearing a creeper face poses on a plinth next to a giant pickaxe. A TNT block also bursts apart on its own page in smoke and flying debris.

To color a creeper, use two greens and scatter the darker one square by square, then fill the face with black.

The other mobs come from every corner of the game:

• Ghasts, white with gray tentacles, float above a stone valley by a portal frame, over a Nether fortress and above a skeleton.
• A skeleton with a bow stands by a barred spawner cage in a dungeon.
• Guardians, spiky and one-eyed, swim above the seabed and circle an underwater temple as a diver swims down. The ocean coloring pages have real reefs to compare.

The Ender Dragon

The Ender Dragon is the final boss. It stands on cracked stone in front of a tall pillar topped by a caged crystal, and on another page flies over a platform ringed by pillars while tall endermen stand below. Both the dragon and the endermen are black with purple eyes, so a dark gray pencil pressed lightly keeps the details visible. The dragon coloring pages have dragons of every other kind.

Minecraft animals: wolves, pandas and the farm

The blocky animals are a good place to start for children who prefer friendly scenes:

• A wolf walks at a player's side, and another sits by Steve with a cat. In the game, a tamed wolf wears a red collar. The wolf coloring pages have the real thing.
• Two pandas chew bamboo in a bamboo forest under a perched parrot, next to the panda coloring pages.
• Sheep, a cow and a pig stand in a fenced field in front of a barn, and a blocky cow with patched markings stands beside an open chest on a village path. The rest of the barnyard is in the farm coloring pages.

How to color Minecraft blocks so they look 3D

A cube shows three faces, and in the game they are never quite the same shade. That is the whole trick.

1. Color the top face lightly.
2. Press a little harder on the front face.
3. Press harder again on the side face.

One pencil is enough. A child who works this out on one block carries it through the page, and a flat drawing suddenly looks solid. Grass green, stone gray, wood brown and sky blue cover most of the world.

Make a Minecraft color by number

Kids searching for a Minecraft color by number can make one from any page. Number the squares of a creeper or a block wall in pencil (1 for light green, 2 for dark green, 3 for black), write the key at the bottom, and hand it to a younger sibling.

Minecraft pages for a first-time crafter and for a master builder

Most of these sheets are full scenes, but a few keep one mob large over plain stone, like the ghast floating above a valley beside an empty portal frame. A big mob over bare ground is what Quick to color looks for:

Fans with years of saved builds behind them tend to choose the crowded builds: the blocky city seen from above with its towers and hedges, the treehouse with rope bridges, the village square with crop plots. Turn on Lots of detail and the builds with hundreds of little squares climb to the top:

For a younger child, the large horse and pig or the crafting table beside a furnace have fewer small squares to fill.

Minecraft birthday party and classroom ideas

At a Minecraft birthday, print a stack of different scenes and let each guest choose, the way they would pick a world to explore. Collect the scenes with Add to pack so they print in one go, and set out greens, grays and browns.

In class, the three-shade block is a neat lesson on light and shadow, and the crafting table and furnace page opens a talk about what things are made of.
