Minecraft Coloring Pages

Everything here is built out of cubes, which changes how the page colours. There are almost no curves to follow and very few small shapes to miss: the work is filling squares, and a child who wants each block a different shade can spend an hour on one sheet without ever leaving the lines.

What is on the thirty-three sheets

• Mobs, most of the set: four creepers, three ghasts with their hanging tentacles, two skeletons, a spider, a bed of endermen under the pillars, and four spiky guardians over an underwater temple.
• The dragon, twice: once standing on cracked stone in front of a caged crystal, once flying over the platform with the endermen below.
• TNT, three times: a block bursting apart in a cloud of debris, a creeper beside a stack of five, and a stepped temple with a TNT sign over the door.
• Mining: rails winding through a shaft on wooden supports, a character walking the track with a torch on the wall, a spawner cage in a cracked dungeon, a crafting table beside a furnace.
• Quiet ones: two pandas chewing bamboo under a parrot, a farm with sheep, a cow and a pig, a wolf and a cat on a wooden floor, a treehouse with three rope bridges, villagers crossing a square, a whole blocky city seen from above.

Why blocks suit a coloring page

A cube has three visible faces, and they are almost never the same colour. That is the whole trick of these sheets: the same block, three shades, light on top, mid on the front, dark on the side. A child who works that out on the first page applies it to the next thirty-two, and the drawings suddenly look like the game.

Grass green, stone grey, wood brown, and one bright colour kept back for the ores and the TNT. Nothing here needs a shade a school tin does not have.

Easy sheets and busy ones

The single subjects finish fastest: the bursting TNT block, the horse next to the pig, the crafting table and furnace, the creeper in the tall grass. Big shapes, plain backgrounds, ten minutes each.

The busy ones are the city seen from above, the village square, the underwater temple and the mine full of rails. Those carry hundreds of separate blocks and will hold a child for an afternoon.

These are original drawings made for this site, not screenshots and not official artwork. If the appeal is the game world rather than the mobs, the dragon set goes further into scales and wings, and the character drawer holds the rest of the names children ask for.
