Every sheet in this set is drawn in the kawaii style: two dots for eyes, a small curved mouth, two oval cheeks, and that is the whole face. It goes on the burger, on the pizza, on the bowl of ramen, and on one sheet it goes on the cherry sitting on top of a cupcake that also has a face.
That sounds like a gimmick and it is not. A face turns an object into a character, and a child who would not colour a slice of pizza will colour one that is winking at them.
What is on the twenty-nine sheets
The set is built on a short list of foods, each drawn several times in a different pose:
- Bubble tea, four times: with a star on the straw, with a charm hanging from the cup, with a smiling straw, and one tall cup grinning through its bubbles.
- Burgers, three: one with chips, one on a chequered napkin, one drawn large and winking.
- Pizza, three slices: pepperoni, mushrooms, and cheese stretching from the crust each time.
- Cupcakes, three, and one cake slice with a strawberry on top.
- Sushi, three, plus a rice ball on its own and two bento boxes, one of them a two-tier lunchbox under a crescent moon.
- The rest, one each: ramen twice, pancakes twice, a doughnut, four winking strawberries, a taco standing on two legs, an ice cream cone whose scoops each have their own face, and an avocado hugging a heart where its stone should be.
Big shapes, almost no background
These are among the simplest sheets on the site. Most are a single object on an empty page with only hearts floating around it, thick outlines everywhere, and nothing smaller than a sprinkle. A three-year-old can finish one; an adult can do one in five minutes without thinking.
The two bento boxes are the exception, and they are the ones to keep for a longer sitting: a dozen separate items each, all with their own faces.

What food is on these coloring pages?

What does kawaii mean here?
It is the Japanese style of drawing things as cute characters: two dot eyes, a small curved mouth, two oval cheeks. On these sheets it goes on everything, including the cherry on top of a cupcake that already has its own face.
What age are these coloring pages for?
Three and up. Almost every sheet is one object on an empty page with thick outlines, which is what a hand that is still learning needs. The two bento boxes carry a dozen items each and suit older children.
What colours do I need?
Fewer than you would think. Most sheets are one food and a few hearts, so a school tin of twelve covers the set. Nothing here has a colour it has to be.
Can I print these for a birthday party?
Yes, as many copies as you need, with no permission and no attribution. The only thing you cannot do is resell the files, which the license page sets out.
What size do they print at?
A4 at 300 dpi, and they print without clipping on US Letter. Set your printer to 100 % rather than “fit to page”.
