These are the oldest sheets on the site, and the only ones that are not for small children. The line work is fine, the faces are drawn rather than cartooned, and almost every hunter is carrying something.
What is on the thirty-six sheets
- Hunters on their own, most of the set: braids and topknots, bomber jackets, plated armour, goggles, painted masks and a fox mask pushed up on the head.
- What they carry: bows, a crossbow, spears, hammers, a shield, a whip, a staff with a crystal, katanas, daggers. Four sheets carry firearms, and one hunter stands on a heap of bones.
- The demons, rarely and always as shadows: a horned silhouette rising behind two teenagers, small horned figures watching from a plain, a panel of eyes on a corridor wall.
- The quiet ones: a close-up face with a marking across the brow, a hand raised among floating symbols, three friends laughing in a busy street, a woman raising a camera.
- The settings: tiled Korean gates, neon signage, rooftops over a city skyline, cherry blossom, a clifftop.
Who these are for
Ten and up. That is not the usual line on this site and it is meant seriously. The detail suits a hand that has stopped pressing hard, and the subject matter suits a reader who already watches this kind of story.
Parents, read this before printing. Four of the thirty-six show firearms, one shows a heap of skulls and bones, and several show knives and swords held ready. They are drawn in an action-fantasy register with no blood and no wounds, but they are there, and the alt text on each sheet says exactly what it shows so you can choose before you print.
Colours
Neon does most of the work: pink, violet and cyan against black, which is how this whole genre is lit. Skin and hair take whatever you like, the jackets carry the accent, and leaving large areas black rather than colouring them is what makes the neon read.
