A Pokémon drawing is a shape test. Each creature is built from two or three silhouettes that have to be exactly right, and everything else can be loose. Squirtle is a shell and a curled tail, Snorlax is one enormous belly, Gyarados is a ribbon with a jaw. Get those and the drawing reads before a single line of detail arrives.
Who is in this set
- The starters: Bulbasaur in a jungle and on a grassy hill, Charmander by a campfire and on a volcano, Squirtle on a beach, in a pond and in the surf.
- The one everybody asks for: Pikachu, in a field of strawberries, jumping, and on a forest log. A full drawer of him lives in Pikachu coloring pages.
- Cats and ghosts: Meowth dancing under street lamps and lifting a dumbbell, Gengar peering out from behind a tree.
- The sleepers: Snorlax under a tree with birds on his belly, which is the longest sheet here.
- The big ones: Gyarados out of the water, Dragonite in the shallows, Lucario on a cliff.
- And the rest: Vulpix in the snow and in flowers, Psyduck on a log with a dragonfly, Jigglypuff singing on a stage, Growlithe in a forest, Mew in a bubble among ruins.
The trick is the outline, not the fill
Most of these creatures are two flat colours and a marking. Charmander is orange with a cream belly and a flame. Squirtle is blue with a brown shell and a pale rim. Bulbasaur is green with a blue-grey body. That is why a Pokemon coloring sheet works with a small box of crayons: the palette is short by design, and the pleasure is in the scene around the creature.
Where a page gives you a volcano, a cobblestone street or a lily pond, colour that freely. Nothing there is fixed.
Easy sheets and long ones
The single-creature pages with a plain background suit small hands: thick closed outlines, one subject, nothing under a crayon tip. The scene sheets, the jungle, the cityscape, the ruins in space, carry forty to sixty separate areas and take an adult a comfortable hour.
Snorlax asleep with the birds is the one children come back to, because the belly is a huge open area that finishes fast and the surroundings can be filled at leisure.

Pokemon Coloring Pages: questions
Which Pokemon are in these coloring pages?
Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Vulpix, Meowth, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, Gengar, Snorlax, Growlithe, Lucario, Gyarados, Dragonite and Mew. Thirty-six sheets in all, most of them putting the creature in a scene rather than alone on white.
Are these official Pokemon coloring pages?
No. They are original drawings made for this site, not scans and not official artwork, and the site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holder. They are free for personal, classroom and community use.
Which Pokemon coloring page is easiest?
The single-creature sheets with a plain background: Squirtle in the surf, Vulpix in a flower field, Jigglypuff dancing. Thick outlines, few areas, and a subject that is recognisable from a third of the way in.
Which one takes longest?
Snorlax asleep under the tree, then Mew among the ruins and Meowth on the cobblestone street. Each carries forty to sixty separate areas, which is an hour of colouring for an adult.
Is there a page just for Pikachu?
Yes, thirty-six of them, in Pikachu coloring pages. He also appears three times here, because a Pokemon set without him would be strange.
Can I print these for a birthday party?
Yes, as many copies as you need, with no permission and no attribution. The only thing you cannot do is resell the files, which the license page sets out.

Thirty-six scenes rather than thirty-six portraits: baking, gardening, in a lab, in space.
Thirty-five sheets built around one thing: speed. Loops, springs, rings in the air and a hedgehog leaning into the corner.
Thirty-six sheets where Pikachu is doing something: surfing, sleeping on a crescent moon, solving a case with a magnifying glass.
Cute animals with somewhere to be: a puppy in an armchair with a coffee, three bears at the oven, friends under a park tree.
