Strawberry Coloring Pages

A strawberry is a perfect first coloring page: a heart shape, a leafy green cap and a sprinkle of little seeds to dot. These strawberry coloring pages start with that single strawberry and go on to the plant, the field, the kitchen and a crowd of cute characters.

Strawberries are a little unusual for a fruit:

• The seeds are on the outside. An average strawberry has about two hundred of them, which is why the dotted pages take a patient hand.
• A strawberry is not technically a berry, while a banana is.
• Strawberries are one of the first fruits to ripen in spring, and strawberry picking is a favorite early summer outing.
• Cut in half, a strawberry shows a pale heart shape in the middle, just like the page.

What color is a strawberry?

Red, of course, but a real strawberry has more going on:

• Bright red for a ripe berry, a little darker near the bottom.
• Pale pink or white near the cap on a berry that is not quite ripe, and inside the cut half.
• Yellow for the tiny seeds, or leave them white.
• Two greens for the cap and leaves, and white with a yellow center for the flowers.

The cute strawberries can be pink, purple or rainbow, and the desserts are the place for chocolate brown, cream and golden pastry.

From toddler to patient colorist
