A print cabinet, not a gallery

Coloring Catalog started from a small annoyance: finding a printable coloring page online takes far longer than it should. The drawing is behind a thumbnail, the thumbnail is behind a gallery page, the gallery page has a download button that opens an advert, and by the time the PDF arrives the child has moved on.

So this site is arranged like a cabinet of prints. A subject is a drawer. The drawer holds every sheet on that subject, each one printable from where it sits. There is no page per drawing, because a page per drawing exists to sell an impression, not to help anyone.

How the sheets are made

Each drawing is composed at 300 dpi on an A4 canvas with a margin generous enough that US Letter loses nothing at the edges. Line weight is chosen per audience rather than applied uniformly: the sheets marked for two- to four-year-olds use a thick closed outline with no gap under a millimetre, while the detailed pages run finer so a pencil can get into the pattern.

Everything is checked before it goes up: ink coverage, closed shapes, no stray grey. A drawing that prints as mud on a tired office printer does not make it into the catalogue.

What it costs

Nothing, and there is no account. No email address is collected before a download, nothing is watermarked, and no sheet is held back for a paid tier. The site is supported by advertising placed where it does not sit between you and a file.

Using them

Home, classroom, daycare, library, hospital ward, waiting room: print as many as you like. The license covers it in full, and the short version is that the only thing off-limits is selling the files or repackaging them as your own set.

What is coming

New drawings go up every day. A subject gets its own drawer whenever it deserves one, and existing drawers are restocked ahead of their season: Halloween in August, Christmas in October. If something you look for is not here, say so. That is where most of the catalogue comes from.
