Fortnite Coloring Pages

Every match of Fortnite starts the same way: a bus under a balloon, a jump, a glider, and a landing somewhere on the island. These Fortnite coloring pages follow that match from the drop to the victory pose, with the skins players know best along the way.

The icons of the game come first. The Battle Bus flies over the island under its striped balloon and waits in a hangar between tool carts. The Loot Llama stands in the grass as a paper pinata and again beside medkits, bandages and potions. A player floats down under an umbrella glider, another rests a folding glider over his shoulder on a cliff, and a glider lies in the grass beside a backpack and a canteen.

Then the skins. Raven, hooded and feathered, stands on a hill. Peely, the banana, dances beside a campfire. Cuddle Team Leader gives Jonesy a high five on a rooftop, and a player in her bear onesie waves from a doorway. The Black Knight kneels at a chest full of coins, Rex runs through a puddle in his dinosaur hood, Jack Gourdon sits on the hay bales with his pumpkin head, a player in a Rabbit Raider hood hides in a bush, and a holiday skin in a Santa hat carries a candy cane pickaxe through the snow. Jonesy, the default soldier, gets the most pages: harvesting in a barn, running from the storm, sitting on a water tower, dancing by a windmill, swinging from a tree, skateboarding a half pipe and pushing a wheelbarrow of planks toward a half-built fort. A wooden build with a ramp, a player behind a haystack, a golf cart on the coast road, a ninja on a rope bridge, a robot dancing on a helipad and a squad striking a victory pose finish the island, with a loot mandala of llamas, pickaxes and a chest for a slow afternoon.

Colors the island already chose

Fortnite skins are bright and recognizable by their colors, so a child who plays will usually know them by heart:

• Peely is banana yellow with brown tips and a darker yellow peel.
• Cuddle Team Leader is pink from head to toe, with a lighter pink face on her bear hood.
• Raven is black and deep purple, with glowing white eyes in the hood.
• Rex wears a green dinosaur hood with a cream belly.
• The Black Knight is dark gray armor with red details.
• Jack Gourdon has an orange pumpkin head, a red plaid shirt and jeans.
• The Loot Llama is purple and blue with yellow details.
• The Battle Bus is blue with a red, white and blue balloon.

Jonesy is the one open choice: the default skin is the blank canvas of the game, so his outfit can be any color at all.

Harvest, build, drop: the game on paper

Several pages are a small lesson in how the game works. In Fortnite you harvest materials by hitting trees, walls and objects with your pickaxe, which is what Jonesy is doing in the barn; you build walls, floors and ramps from those materials, which is the wooden build on the grass; and the storm closes in on the island so that everyone ends up in the same place, which is why Jonesy is running from it. A child who plays can tell the story of a match using the pages in order: bus, glider, landing, harvest, build, storm, victory.

Why most Fortnite pages take a while

Fortnite pages are mostly detailed, because the skins are: armor plates, straps, boots and a whole island around them. They suit a player of eight and up. The least busy keep one skin large with a light background, the Rabbit Raider in a bush and Jonesy running from the storm among them:

The densest are the building and harvesting scenes, where every plank, crate and hay bale is its own shape. Lots of detail opens on:

• Wooden build with a ramp
• Jonesy with a wheelbarrow of wood

Emotes in coloring form

Many of these pages are really emotes, the little dances and gestures players buy in the Item Shop: Jonesy's dance by the windmill, Peely by the campfire, the squad's victory pose, the robot waving on the helipad. That makes a fun game at a party table: color a page, then perform the emote on it for the others to guess. The pages without a dance, the hiding and harvesting ones, can become the "loser" pages that everyone has to act out at the end.

Design your own skin

The best use of the collection is the one every player already imagines. Take the Jonesy pages, the ones with a plain outfit, and turn him into a new skin: a pattern on the shirt, a helmet, a cape, a color scheme. Give the skin a name and a rarity, gray for common, blue for rare, purple for epic, gold for legendary, and draw a matching glider on the back of the page. At a party, each guest designs one and the table votes.
