Kuromi Coloring Pages

Kuromi likes to say she is a troublemaker, and her hood with a pink skull backs her up. But most of what she does on these Kuromi coloring pages is gentle: sitting on a crescent moon, napping on a pile of cushions, sharing cake with My Melody. That mix of cute and a little bit punk is exactly why older kids and teens love her.

Kuromi stands among sparkles in her jester hood, sits on a crescent moon with stars hanging on threads, poses in a studded punk jacket in front of a brick wall and leans on a motorcycle in a leather jacket. She rides a kick scooter, jumps a ramp on her skateboard, plays an electric guitar with the cables coiled across the floor and listens to music on big headphones. At home she lounges in a quilted armchair with her boots kicked off, bakes cupcakes with skull sprinkles, naps on cushions, sits in a teacup beside a plate of macarons, hugs a little plush bat and meets a cat on a garden wall. My Melody, her rival and best friend, shares a slice of strawberry cake with her, rides a tandem bike under the blossoms and holds an umbrella for the two of them in the rain. And the holidays are all there: Kuromi grins as she carves a jack o'lantern, goes trick or treating in a witch hat, stirs a bubbling cauldron, decorates a Christmas tree, holds a present in a Santa hat, gets tangled in fairy lights, builds a snowman, blows out her birthday candles, peeks over a basket of Easter eggs and holds heart balloons for Valentine's Day.

Who Kuromi is

Kuromi is a Sanrio character who first appeared in 2005 in the anime Onegai My Melody, as My Melody's self-declared rival. She wears a black jester hood with a pink skull, has a small devil tail, and keeps a diary in which she writes down every little thing that annoys her. Behind the attitude she is shy, loves romance novels and cute things, and is secretly kind. In Sanrio's yearly character ranking she has climbed near the top, which says a lot about how many fans she has.

Kuromi's colors

Kuromi is mostly black and white, which makes her a good character for a first coloring page:

• Her hood: black, with a pink skull on the front and white balls at the tips of the ears.
• Her face and body: white, with a small pink nose and a black devil tail.
• Accents: purple and pink go everywhere around her, in bows, hearts, cushions and backgrounds.

My Melody, beside her, has a pink hood with a flower at one ear. Put the two side by side on a page and the contrast between black and pink does most of the work.
