About these Trolls coloring pages
Updated October 2026
Kids who ask for Trolls coloring pages usually want one thing first: that enormous hair. Every sheet here gives it plenty of room, from a big troll face that fills the page to small trolls standing on bridges and mushrooms, and all of them print for free.
What the trolls are up to:
- Troll portraits with wild, towering hair, a thumbs up or a cheeky grin.
- Poppy, in her flower headband, for Halloween, Christmas, Easter and her birthday.
- Outdoor fun: dancing on a spotted mushroom, sliding down a rainbow, blowing a dandelion, watering flowers.
- Friends together, hugging, playing a drum, ice skating or crossing a little bridge hand in hand.
- Odd and sweet ideas: hair shaped like a heart, a troll asleep in a flower bud, a baby troll in a teacup.
Trolls, from lucky dolls to DreamWorks movies
Long before the films, trolls were toys. In 1959 the Danish woodcarver Thomas Dam made a troll doll with wild hair for his daughter, and the good luck trolls became a craze around the world.
DreamWorks Animation turned them into the stars of Trolls (2016), followed by Trolls World Tour (2020) and Trolls Band Together (2023). The trolls of the films live for singing, dancing and hugs, and their hair is more than decoration: they swing on it, climb with it and use it to grab things.
That is why so many pages here play with the hair. One troll has a braid long enough to coil on the ground like a rope, another has leaves for hair, and one wears a crown of twigs.
The films also give the trolls a world made of felt and fabric, where flowers are taller than the trolls themselves. Several sheets keep that scale: a troll sleeps inside a closed flower bud, another hides behind a single leaf as tall as a tree, and a baby troll sits in a teacup filled with blossoms. Kids can color those flowers in the soft, fuzzy colors of the movie, or in whatever shades they like.
Poppy coloring pages
Poppy is the cheerful leader of the trolls, easy to spot thanks to the flower headband in her hair. She hugs a jack o'lantern, collects candy in a pointy witch hat, puts an ornament on a Christmas tree, carries a present in a Santa hat and lights the candles on a tall birthday cake.
In the films she has pink skin and bright pink hair. Give her a pink marker for the hair and a paler pink for the face, and let kids choose the dress color.
Branch and the grumpy troll
Poppy's friend Branch starts the first film as a gray, grumpy troll who refuses to sing. The troll sitting on a big rock with a frown has that mood exactly. Color him in blue-gray with dark blue hair if a child wants to make him Branch, or in bright colors to cheer him up.
Trolls coloring pages with friends
Trolls are rarely alone for long, and the group pages are good for two kids sharing a table. Two trolls hug under a giant flower. Two more, in flower crowns, beat a big drum together. A troll does a handstand on a mushroom while two friends clap, and four trolls hold hands on a little wooden bridge over a stream.
On these pages, give each troll a different hair color so they stand apart. Kids can name them, write the names under their feet and make up the song they are singing.
The troll riding on the roof of a smiling bus is a favorite with little ones who love vehicles. The vehicle coloring pages have more buses, cars and trucks with friendly faces.
Coloring troll hair
Troll hair is where kids have the most fun, because any color is right:
- One color, two shades: color the whole tuft in light blue, then add darker blue strokes along the lines of the hair.
- Rainbow hair: one color per strand, from the roots to the tips.
- Ombre: pink at the roots fading into purple at the top.
- Glitter: a gel pen or a little glue and glitter on the tips once the page is dry.
Fine tips help on the skinny strands near the top, and a broad marker fills the base of the tuft quickly. Color the hair last. It sits above the face on most sheets, and a hand resting on wet marker can smudge the face below.
Troll pages for every season
The trolls celebrate all year. For October there is Poppy with her jack o'lantern and her candy bucket, which fit with the Halloween coloring pages. December brings the Christmas tree, the present in the Santa hat and the Christmas coloring pages.
Winter goes on with trolls ice skating on a frozen pond, waving in a striped scarf under the snowflakes, and building a snowman. More of that in the snowman coloring pages and the winter coloring pages.
Spring has Poppy's basket of painted eggs for the Easter coloring pages, and February has a troll girl hugging a heart, a good match for the Valentine's Day coloring pages. For birthdays, Poppy's cake and the trolls baking cupcakes join the happy birthday coloring pages.
Easy Trolls coloring pages for little kids
Many of these trolls stand alone on a plain background, with a round face and simple body. A preschooler can finish them with a few crayons. Quick to color shows the plainest trolls at the top of the grid:
- Grumpy Troll on a Rock
- Troll with Heart-Shaped Hair
- Big Troll Face
The kitchen with cupcakes, the long braid and the Easter basket have far more small shapes to fill. Lots of detail brings those troll scenes forward:
- Troll Baking Cupcakes
- Poppy with an Easter Basket
- Troll with a Braid of Hair
The mushroom and rainbow pages are a nice bridge to the mushroom coloring pages and the rainbow coloring pages, and the giant strawberry leads to the strawberry coloring pages.
A Trolls party at home
Trolls fit a birthday or a sleepover, with very little to prepare:
- Print a mix: Poppy's birthday cake, the drum, the guitar and the rainbow slide.
- Set out the brightest markers in the box, plus a few gel pens for the hair.
- Play the songs from the films while everyone colors.
- Every hour, call a hug time break, the way Poppy does in the movie.
Finished trolls can be cut out along the hair and taped to a straw to make puppets. Fans of bright, friendly characters will also like the My Little Pony coloring pages and the Care Bears coloring pages.
Printing the trolls
Each page is a free A4 PDF made at 300 dpi. The tall hair often comes close to the top margin, so on US Letter use fit to page to keep every tuft on the sheet. For a party stack, tap Add to pack under the trolls you want and print them as a single file. For each browser, the printing guide points to the right menu.
Trolls Coloring Pages: questions and answers
Did DreamWorks make these Trolls coloring pages?
No. These are original fan drawings made for this site. DreamWorks Animation and the Trolls films have no part in them and do not endorse them.
Is Poppy in the Trolls pages?
Yes. Poppy appears with her flower headband for Halloween, Christmas, Easter and her birthday, holding a pumpkin, a present, a basket of eggs or lighting cake candles.
What color is Branch from Trolls?
In the first film Branch is a dull blue-gray with dark blue hair, because he lost his color. Once he finds his happiness again he turns bright blue with dark blue hair.
Where do troll dolls come from?
From Denmark. Thomas Dam carved the first troll doll in 1959 for his daughter, and the good luck trolls with their tall colored hair spread around the world in the 1960s.
What colors work best for troll hair?
Any color. Bright pinks, blues, greens and purples look most like the films, and rainbow or ombre hair is a fun way to use up a whole set of markers.
