SpongeBob Coloring Pages

Every sheet here is a scene from Bikini Bottom, not a portrait on empty paper. The outlines are thick, the shapes are large, and the whole set colours with about six pencils, because the cast barely needs more than that.

What is on the thirty-six sheets

• SpongeBob on his own, a dozen times: on a unicycle, in a karate headband, in a cape, with a guitar, at the barbecue, asleep with a pillow, and standing straight with his hands on his hips.
• Patrick, on nine sheets: flexing outside the pineapple house, sitting under the jellyfish, blowing bubbles, planting seaweed, and racing a go-kart.
• The rest of the cast: Squidward with his clarinet twice, Sandy in her helmet twice, Mr Krabs at the counter and in the doorway, Plankton on a stool with a bottle, and Gary the snail on three sheets.
• The Krusty Krab, five times: the building under its sign, the counter with the till, the griddle full of burgers, and one very large Krabby Patty filling most of the page.
• One sheet with nothing written in it: a yawning SpongeBob under empty thought bubbles, for a child who wants to draw what he is dreaming.

Yellow, pink, and not much else

SpongeBob is yellow with brown shorts and a red tie, Patrick pink with green shorts, Squidward blue-green, Sandy brown in a white suit, Mr Krabs red, Plankton green. Six colours cover the entire set, which is why these sheets work with the twelve pencils in a school tin.

The sea behind them is the one place where a child can do whatever they like: the water, the sand and the flower-shaped clouds are not fixed by anything.

Easy sheets and busy ones

The single figures are the quickest: SpongeBob with his hands on his hips, the karate pose, Squidward on his stool, Plankton on his. One character, a plain background, ten minutes.

The busy ones are the Krusty Krab counter, the barbecue, the coral reef and the jellyfield: five or six separate things to fill and enough small shapes to hold a child for an afternoon.
