About these Rapunzel coloring pages
Updated October 2026
Seventy feet of golden hair is a lot to color, and that is exactly why kids love these Rapunzel coloring pages. The princess from Disney's Tangled paints, bakes, plays the guitar and swings on her own hair across these free sheets, with Pascal, Flynn Rider and Maximus at her side.
You will find:
- Life in the tower: painting flowers on the walls, brushing her braid, baking cookies, playing chess with Pascal, knitting by the fire.
- Tangled moments: swinging on her hair over a pond, climbing down the tower, reaching for a floating lantern, holding up her famous frying pan.
- Her friends: Pascal the chameleon, Flynn Rider in a rowboat, Maximus the horse.
- Outdoor scenes: sitting among flowers, dipping her feet in a stream, lying in the grass, riding through the woods.
- Holiday pages for Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Valentine's Day.
Tangled: Rapunzel's story
The fairy tale of Rapunzel comes from the Brothers Grimm, who published it in 1812: a girl with very long hair locked in a tower without a door, reached only by climbing her braid.
Disney's Tangled (2010) turned it into an adventure. Rapunzel is a lost princess whose golden hair has magic healing powers. Mother Gothel keeps her in a hidden tower for eighteen years. Every year on her birthday, Rapunzel watches thousands of floating lanterns rise into the sky, without knowing they are released for her.
The lanterns are the king and queen's way of remembering their lost daughter. Each one carries the golden sun of Corona, the symbol of the kingdom, which also appears on Rapunzel's paintings. When she finally sees them up close, she understands that the sun she has painted all her life is the sign of her own family.
When the thief Flynn Rider climbs into her tower, she makes a deal with him: he takes her to see the lanterns. The famous lantern scene has its own page here, Rapunzel reaching up to a glowing lantern.
Pascal, Flynn Rider and Maximus coloring pages
Rapunzel is never alone for long:
- Pascal, her chameleon, sits on her head at the window, rides on her shoulder by candlelight, and plays chess with her. She even paints his portrait on an easel. In the film he changes color with his mood, so kids can color him green, pink, yellow or anything they like.
- Flynn Rider, whose real name is Eugene Fitzherbert, shares a rowboat with Rapunzel on the lake.
- Maximus, the palace horse who acts more like a bloodhound, gets a hug and carries Rapunzel through the woods. Color him white with a gold and red bridle.
Horse fans can keep riding with the horse coloring pages.
Coloring Rapunzel's golden hair
Rapunzel's hair is the star of every page, and it is a fun challenge:
- Start with a light yellow over the whole hair.
- Add golden yellow or light orange along the inner lines of the braid and the waves.
- Leave a few thin white streaks to make it shine.
Rapunzel's hair holds its magic only while it stays long and golden. When she sings the healing song, it glows; kids can show that with a soft orange or yellow halo drawn lightly around the hair, then colored in.
Her dress is purple and lavender, with a pink laced bodice and light pink sleeves. Flowers braided into her hair can be any color: in the film the village girls weave purple, pink and yellow flowers into her braid.
Short brown hair?
At the end of the movie, Flynn cuts her hair and it turns short and brown. Kids who know the ending can color one of the portraits that way, as a before and after.
Rapunzel coloring pages in the tower and outdoors
Rapunzel lists her chores in the song "When Will My Life Begin": sweeping, painting, baking, playing the guitar, knitting, chess. Many of them are here, so a stack of these pages can follow the song, one activity per page.
Outside the tower she finally discovers the world. She sits in a flower garden with butterflies, dips her feet in a stream, lies laughing in the grass and holds a bouquet of wildflowers. These scenes sit well with the flower coloring pages and the butterfly coloring pages.
Kids who love painting like Rapunzel can draw their own design on the tower wall page before coloring it.
In the film, the walls of her tower are covered from floor to ceiling with her paintings: suns, flowers, vines, stars and, hidden in the middle of it all, the lanterns she watches every year. A fun game is to fill the blank stones of the wall page with tiny symbols of things the child loves, so the tower becomes theirs.
Rapunzel Christmas, Halloween and Easter pages
Rapunzel celebrates the whole year. She carves a jack o'lantern and goes trick or treating in a witch hat with a pumpkin bucket, ready for the Halloween coloring pages.
In December she puts the star on a Christmas tree and holds a present by the fireplace in a Santa hat. A snowy cottage with a snowman completes the set. Put them next to the Christmas coloring pages, with a few snowman coloring pages for the youngest.
In spring she carries a wicker basket of decorated eggs, an easy match for the Easter coloring pages, and in February she hugs a heart balloon, a sweet companion for the Valentine's Day coloring pages.
Rapunzel pages from easy to detailed
The heart balloon, the chess game and the floating lantern have big open areas. Quick to color lines up these lighter Rapunzel pages:
- Rapunzel Hugging a Heart Balloon
- Rapunzel Playing Chess with Pascal
- Rapunzel Reaching for a Floating Lantern
The kitchen, the fireplace and the decorated tree are packed with small shapes. Lots of detail brings these fuller Tangled scenes to the top:
- Rapunzel Dancing in the Kingdom
- Rapunzel with an Easter Basket
- Rapunzel Braiding Flowers into Her Hair
Princess fans can keep the story going with the princess coloring pages, the Belle coloring pages, the Frozen coloring pages and the Moana coloring pages.
A Tangled lantern party
- Print the floating lantern page, the boat with Flynn and a few tower scenes.
- Set out yellow, purple, pink and green markers.
- Let each child color a lantern and decorate it with their own symbol, the way the kingdom's lanterns carry the sun of Corona.
- Hang the finished lanterns from a string across the room.
