About these shoe coloring pages
Updated October 2026
Ask a child to draw their own feet and they will usually draw shoes. This collection of free shoe coloring pages starts from that habit: sneakers, boots, sandals and slippers drawn big and plain, plus a few scenes where a shoe tells a small story. Every page prints as a PDF and is free for home or class.
On the sheets you will find:
- Everyday shoes: a canvas high-top sneaker with long laces, a running shoe above the track, rows of sneakers on a rack by the door.
- Boots for the weather: a fur-trimmed snow boot by a sled, a hiking boot on a rock in a stream, a rain boot turned into a fern planter.
- Shoes for a hobby: soccer cleats, tap shoes, pointe shoes, roller skates and ice skates.
- Shoes from stories: an elf shoemaker, a glass slipper, a jester shoe with bells and a boot that became a house.
- Animals and shoes: a puppy chewing laces, a kitten asleep in a boot, a crab climbing over a flip-flop.
Sneaker and sports shoe coloring pages
The high-top sneaker is the page most kids reach for first. It has no logo and no stripes, only the canvas, the rubber toe cap, the eyelets and two long laces. That makes it a blank canvas in the real sense.
The running shoe shows its laces flying above the lanes of a track, and the shoe rack holds a mix of sneakers in a row, which is a good page for trying a different color scheme on each pair.
Soccer players get their boots muddy too. A pair of muddy soccer cleats sits in a puddle near the corner flag, and a single cleat rests on top of a ball in the grass. For more of the game, the soccer coloring pages have players, goals and stadiums, and the sports coloring pages gather every ball game on the site.
Design your own sneaker
Many kids search for a branded sneaker to color. These shoes are left plain on purpose, so the design belongs to the child:
- Pick a base color for the canvas and a second one for the laces.
- Draw a logo of your own on the side panel in pencil: a star, a lightning bolt, your initials.
- Add a pattern on the toe cap, such as checks, dots or tiny hearts.
- Color the sole last, in white, gum brown or a bright neon.
A shoe rack page works as a whole sneaker catalog. Each pair can get its own name and price written underneath.
Boot coloring pages for rain, snow and the trail
Boots come in for the weather pages. The snow boot has a fur cuff and stands in the snow next to a wooden sled, which pairs well with the winter coloring pages. The hiking boot wears a thick wool sock and stands on a rock in the middle of a stream.
The rain boot planter is a small idea worth copying: an old rubber boot, filled with soil, holding a fern in a garden by a brick wall. A child who colors it may want to make one with an outgrown pair.
Then there are the dressier boots: a tall lace-up boot with a stacked heel on a wooden floor, ankle boots with painted flowers drying on a radiator, and a cowboy boot with swirling stitching and a spur, out in the desert. The cowboy page sits well beside the cowboy coloring pages, with horses, hats and campfires.
Shoes from fairy tales and old stories
Shoes play a big part in folk tales, and several pages lean on that.
- The Elves and the Shoemaker, the tale collected by the Brothers Grimm, is where the elf shoemaker comes from. He hammers a little boot on an anvil, with tools on a pegboard and boots all around him. Elsewhere a cobbler at his bench drives a nail into a shoe.
- The glass slipper of the Cinderella story sits on a tasseled cushion at the foot of a grand staircase. The princess coloring pages carry the rest of the ball.
- The jester shoe curls up at the toe and has little bells, over a striped stocking on a checkered floor.
- The boot house, with a door, windows and a smoking chimney, recalls the old woman who lived in a shoe. More cottages and cabins are in the house coloring pages.
The shoemaker's wooden last, the foot-shaped form a shoe is built around, has a page to itself, on a shelf above spools of thread and a needle.
Shoes around the world
A few pages bring in shoes with a long history:
- Dutch clogs (klompen) are carved from a single block of wood, traditionally willow or poplar. The pair here is painted with tulips and stands in front of a plank door.
- Moccasins are soft leather shoes made by many Native American peoples. This one has fringe and beaded diamond patterns.
- Espadrilles have soles of braided rope and come from Spain and southern France. They sit on a stone wall in front of lavender.
These make a good starting point for a class talk about what people wear on their feet and why: wood in wet fields, soft leather for walking quietly, rope soles for the heat.
Dance, skate and beach shoe pages
Tap shoes sit on a wooden stage under a hanging lamp, with one turned over to show its metal taps. The pointe shoes hang from a ballet barre by their satin ribbons, a natural partner for the ballerina coloring pages.
The lace-up roller skates have big wheels, and a pair of ice skates hangs by its laces over a girl's shoulder.
For summer, a flip-flop lies on the sand with a smiling crab climbing over it, and a woven strap sandal waits next to a seashell. The beach coloring pages and summer coloring pages continue the day out.
Easy shoe pictures for little kids, shop scenes for big ones
Little kids do best with a single shoe on an empty page: the smiling cartoon shoe with rosy cheeks, the flip-flop, the moccasin or the high-top. Big shapes, few lines. Quick to color, above the grid, puts those lone shoes first:
- Beaded moccasin with fringe
- Smiling cartoon shoe
- Flip-flop and a little crab
Older kids can take on the shoe shop window under its striped awning, the elf's workshop or the full shoe rack, where every lace and eyelet is its own small space. Pick Lots of detail to bring those busy shop and workshop scenes to the top:
- Sneakers on a shoe rack
- Shoe shop window
- Elf shoemaker hammering a boot
The pages with animals sit in between. The puppy chewing a sneaker on a rug and the kitten asleep in a boot cuff are easy to finish, and the dog coloring pages and kitten coloring pages have plenty more of both.
Shoe coloring pages for a lesson or a cozy evening
- Learning to tie laces: color the high-top, punch holes at the eyelets and thread a real lace through the paper.
- Back to school: new shoes go with a new bag. The boy trying on boots by a pile of shoe boxes fits a first week of school, next to the school coloring pages.
- Christmas: the fluffy slippers by the fireplace have three socks hanging from the mantel, a calm page for December beside the Christmas coloring pages.
- A shoe shop game: print the shop window and the shoe rack, then let kids price each pair and play shop.
The high heel wrapped in climbing roses suits older kids who like flowers; the roses coloring pages go further.
Printing shoe pages without losing a toe
Each drawing comes as an A4 PDF at 300 dpi and prints at full size on A4. On US Letter, pick fit to page in the print window, so the toe of a long boot is not cut off. To print a whole shoe shop at once, use Add to pack under each sheet and download one PDF. The printing guide shows where those settings are.
Shoe Coloring Pages: questions and answers
Do the sneakers have a brand logo on them?
No. The sneakers, cleats and running shoes are drawn without any logo or brand stripe, so kids can invent their own design on the side panel and color the sole and laces however they like.
Is there a glass slipper page for a Cinderella party?
Yes. A glass slipper rests on a tasseled cushion at the foot of a grand staircase. It sits well next to the princess pages for a fairy tale party.
Which story does the elf shoemaker come from?
The Elves and the Shoemaker, a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm. A poor shoemaker finds new pairs of shoes finished overnight by two little elves, and later sews them clothes to thank them.
Can these pages help a child learn to tie shoelaces?
Yes. Color the high-top sneaker, glue it to card, punch a hole at each eyelet and thread a real lace through. The child can practice the knot on the paper shoe.
What were Dutch clogs made of?
Wood, carved from a single block, usually willow or poplar. They kept feet dry in wet fields and on farms, and many were painted with flowers like the tulip pair in this collection.
